The Acadian Deportarion and Planters Landing historic site

A Black Iron French Cross marks the location where the Acadians of Grand Pre were put onto boats and forced to leave their ancestral land. Message boards tell of the Acadian expulsion of 1755 and also about the New England Planters who began arriving in 1760 to resettle the empty farmland of Grand Pre.
